Arielmac- ~*!*~ A Mermaid's Tale

First Impressions:

~*~Username and Title: Ariel Mac. This must be part of her name or something. It's cute!. A Mermaid's Tale...awww, this is definitely growing on me.-4/5.

~*~Thoughts While The Page Was Loading: Oh, such lovely soft warm colors...yay! Look how well the lovely Ariel MacSween has organized her thoughts for me. Oh, a mermaid! Okay, I heart this layout.-5/5.

The Starlit-Lily Factor:

~*~Does Your Soul Shine Through? Hmm...yes, and no. You present yourself as being bluntly honest, which I adore. You have a delightful attitude of "This is how I am. Get over it." You're rather a free spirit, it seems, which I relate well to. I can see that you're very passionate about life in general, which is lovely. But, at the same time, I cannot get into your diary. I had a hard time forming that empathetic bond which I need in order to be able to fully appreciate where you're coming from on a lot of things. Mais c'est d'accord. I still enjoyed it.-24/35.

~*~Are You Observant Of Beauty? I'm not precisely sure. As I said, it was really hard for me to get into your diary. I see glimmers of that sensation of, "This is beautiful, and I want to share it with you" here and there your diary, so I'm going to say yes. You're most definitely a fascinating person.-23/35.

Layout:

I adore your layout. Plain and simple. Normally I would loathe those colors together, because I'm not much of a yellow-loving person. At all. But those shades are so soft, and warm, and cozy, and the image is beautiful. It's so soft and dreamy and ethereal. Also, your layout is very neat and tidy, which everyone likes to see. And, it has a number of random shiny things in it, which warm my Gemini heart.-18/20.

Navigation:

Your organization is beautiful, lined up along the left column so nicely. My only complaint is, can't you make the link faces and hovers a bit more exciting? Also, some of your links don't work. That irked me. -8/10.

Content:

~*~Your Content: Perhaps this wasn't fair to you, but then again, as a reviewee, you weren't too terribly fair to me. I only read the entries from the first of the year on, because I could not find your archives. I was not in the mood to scroll back an indefinite number of entries. I'm sorry, but that would have put me in a bad mood, and you really don't want me to be in a bad mood when I'm reviewing your diary. So, I'm just going to hope I was able to grade your writing fairly based on what I read. That being said...

Your diary, does not make a lot of sense. I can weed through the errors in the English; if you were to start babbling in French, I'd still be able to understand; but what you write about--even with having patiently read your "101" and "Crew" (Two of your links on that page don't work, by the way.)--just, completely missed me. I find myself wondering if you're simply drunk when you update your diary most of the time, because you ramble so. You write from within your own little world a lot, and you never quite seem to bloom, to open up, so the rest of the world can see what's there. Of course, it's your diary, you've the right to do so--but as a reviewer, it frustrates me.

Your diary is definitely funny. I loved reading this about being embarassed by your parents. That was hilarious, and it makes me thankful that my parents are apparently weird enough to not embarass me. As I read further on, I had a smile on my face the whole time; you definitely have that Canadian charm. I enjoyed hearing your descriptions of the things you do; they're funny and refreshing. It's also adorable to see all the little French-to-English translation goof-ups you make. (A friendly laughter-inspiration, I promise. If you were to see some of my papers from French III, you'd be laughing at me!) This entry had me rolling. While you may not be precisely what I was expecting, Ariel MacSween, you were definitely the inspiration for quite a few good, hearty laughs. Though that's not always a good thing when you're eating hot tomato soup...-52/70.

~*~Your Grammar and Spelling: You already know you have quite a few errors when you write in English--apparently as well as when you write in French, too. I haven't the heart to dock you like I technically should, because I know how difficult other languages are, even if you're truly bilingual, and even if you love other languages comme j'adore français. -7/10.

Extras: Yes! I was very well-entertained while wandering your page.-10/10.

Will I Return?

Possibly. You're fun to read.

Comments:

Ariel MacSween, you're a pleasure to read. You really are.

"Dreams are postcards from our subconscious, inner self to outer self, right brain trying to cross that moat to the left. Too often they come back unread: "return to sender, addressee unknown."
